Featured students will include Zak Mustille, performing his 1st place winning piece, Jardins Sous La Pluie (Gardens in the Rain) by Debussy in the 2015 Young Artist Piano Competition. Zak is also the 1st place National Winner for grade 4 through the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program. Also performing is Daniel Namkung, State Runner up for the CAPMT Piano Auditions and Honorable Mention at the 2015 Young Artist Piano Competition. Other performers will include participants and winners from the Royal Conservatory Music Development Association, GUILD, CAPMT Auditions and the TVMTA Festival Auditions.
Our featured piece, Jardins Sous La Pluie, is in the impressionistic style. Zak is an 11 year old gifted pianist under the instruction of Elizabeth Medici. This was his first year to enter competitions, and he has surprised and delighted listeners with his remarkable gift. Zak displays a remarkable technical control for his age and is already beginning to understand the different interpretations of the impressionistic style. Daniel Namkung, another prodigy, is only 8 years old and already displaying his technical talent.
Elizabeth Medici runs a full time piano studio teaching all ages. Her students have participated and placed in numerous Competitions and events at state and local levels. Elizabeth excels at bringing students to their full potential. She has taught for over 25 years and currently serves as the Royal Conservatory Center Rep., the California Assoc. of Music Teachers (CAPMT) State Treasurer, and President for the local CAPMT Chapter (TVMTA). During her Presidency, her Chapter received the Chapter of the Year award from CAPMT. In addition to serving on the CAPMT state board, Elizabeth has also served on the state conference planning committee and as the conference registrar for the past 3 years.
